Staff Pay Policy

Introduction Hopscotch Children’s Nurseries is committed to providing fair and competitive compensation to all employees. This policy outlines the principles and procedures for determining staff pay.  Objectives 
  • Ensure fair and equitable pay for all employees. 
  • Attract and retain skilled and motivated staff. 
  • Comply with all relevant employment laws and regulations. 
 Pay Structure 
  • Employees will receive a base salary that reflects their role, responsibilities, and experience. 
  • Roles will be categorised into pay bands based on job function and market rates. 
  • Salaries will be reviewed annually, considering performance, market conditions, and organisational budget. 
 National Minimum Wage and Apprentice Pay 
  • All employees will be paid at least the National Minimum Wage as set by the government each April.  
  • Apprentices will be paid above the National Apprentice Wage to ensure fair compensation and to attract talented individuals to our apprenticeship programs. 
 Additional Compensation 
  • Employees eligible for overtime will be compensated at their regular hourly rate for hours worked beyond their standard schedule. 
  • Additional incentives may be provided for achieving specific goals or milestones, for example a qualifying bonus when an apprentice achieves their qualification.  
 Pay Increases 
  • Based on performance evaluations, employees may receive merit-based pay increases. 
 Payroll Procedures 
  • Employees will be paid monthly on the last working day of the month.  
  • Salaries will be directly deposited into employees’ nominated bank accounts. 
  • Statutory deductions (Tax and NI) and voluntary deductions (Pension contributions) will be made as required. 
 Compliance and Review 
  • The policy will comply with all relevant employment laws and regulations. 
  • This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary. 
 Communication 
  • The pay policy will be communicated clearly to all employees.
